Biography: Schahram Dustdar is Full Professor of Computer Science heading the Research Division of Distributed Systems at the TU Wien, Austria. He holds several honorary positions: Francqui Chair Professor at University of Namur, Belgium (2021-2022), University of California (USC) Los Angeles; Monash University in Melbourne, Shanghai University, Macquarie University in Sydney, University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. From Dec 2016 until Jan 2017 he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Sevilla, Spain and from January until June 2017 he was a Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley, USA.
From 1999 - 2007 he worked as the co-founder and chief scientist of Caramba Labs Software AG in Vienna (acquired by Engineering NetWorld AG), a venture capital co-funded software company focused on software for collaborative processes in teams. Caramba Labs was nominated for several (international and national) awards: World Technology Award in the category of Software (2001); Top-Startup companies in Austria (Cap Gemini Ernst & Young) (2002); MERCUR Innovation award of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (2002).
He is founding co-Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Internet of Things (ACM TIoT) as well as Editor-in-Chief of Computing (Springer). He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, ACM Computing Surveys, ACM Transactions on the Web, and ACM Transactions on Internet Technology, as well as on the editorial board of IEEE Internet Computing and IEEE Computer. Dustdar is recipient of multiple awards: TCI Distinguished Service Award (2021), IEEE TCSVC Outstanding Leadership Award (2018), IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing (2019), ACM Distinguished Scientist (2009), ACM Distinguished Speaker (2021), IBM Faculty Award (2012). He is an elected member of the Academia Europaea: The Academy of Europe, where he is chairman of the Informatics Section, as well as an IEEE Fellow (2016), an Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) President (2021) and Fellow (2021). He is an EAI Fellow (2021) and an I2CICC Fellow (2021). He is a Member of the 2022 IEEE Computer Society Fellow Evaluating Committee (2022).

Biography: David Zhang graduated in Computer Science from Peking University. He received his MSc in 1982 and his PhD in 1985 in both Computer Science from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), respectively. From 1986 to 1988 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tsinghua University and then an Associate Professor at the Academia Sinica, Beijing. In 1994 he received his second PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He has been a Chair Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he is the Founding Director of Biometrics Research Centre (UGC/CRC) supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government since 2005. Currently he is Presidential Chair Professor in Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). He also serves as Visiting Chair Professor in Tsinghua University and HIT, and Adjunct Professor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peking University, National University of Defense Technology and the University of Waterloo. He is both Founder and Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Image & Graphics (IJIG) (http://www.worldscinet.com/ijig/ijig.shtml) and Springer International Series on Biometrics (KISB)(http://www.springer.com/series/6191); Organizer, the first International Conference on Biometrics Authentication (ICBA); and Associate Editor of more than ten international journals including IEEE Transactions and so on. Over past 30 years, he have been working on pattern recognition, image processing and biometrics, where many research results have been awarded and some created directions, including palmprint recognition, computerized TCM and facial beauty analysis, are famous in the world. So far, he has published over 20 monographs, 400 international journal papers and 40 patents from USA/Japan/HK/China. He has been continuously listed as a Highly Cited Researchers in Engineering by Clarivate Analytics (formerly known as Thomson Reuters) in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively(http://highlycited.com). He is also ranted about 80 with H-Index 103 at Top 1000 Scientists for international Computer Science and Electronics(http://www.guide2research.com/scientists). Professor Zhang is a Croucher Senior Research Fellow, Distinguished Speaker of the IEEE Computer Society, and a Fellow of both IEEE and IAPR.

Biography:
Prof. Saman Halgamuge received the B.Sc. Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and the Dipl.-Ing and Ph.D. degrees in data engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He is currently a Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the School of Electrical Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering, The University of Melbourne, Australia.
He is a Fellow of IEEE (2017-), a distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (2018-21) and listed as a top 2% most cited researcher for AI and Image Processing in Stanford database (2020-). His research interests are in AI, machine learning including deep learning, optimization, big data analytics and their applications in energy, mechatronics, bioinformatics and neural engineering. He graduated 45 PhD students at University of Melbourne and delivered about 50 keynotes at conferences (2000-).
He is currently an honorary Professor of multiple institutions including ANU in Canberra and a distinguished visiting professor of HEBUT in Tianjin. His previous roles include member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts, Associate Dean of Engineering Faculty at University of Melbourne and Head of Engineering School at ANU.

Biography: Dr. Cheng-Zhong Xu, IEEE Fellow, is the Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology and the Interim Director of Institute of Collaborative Innovation, University of Macau, and a Chair Professor of Computer and Information Science. He was a professor of Wayne State University and the Director of Institute of Advanced Computing of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technologies, Chinese Academy of Sciences before he joined UM in 2019. Dr. Xu is a Chief Scientist of Key Project on Smart City of MOST, China and the principal investigator of the Key Project on Autonomous Driving of FDCT, Macau SAR.
Dr. Xu’s main research interests lie in parallel and distributed computing and cloud computing, in particular, with an emphasis on resource management for system’s performance, reliability, availability, power efficiency, and security, and in big data and data-driven intelligence applications in smart city and self-driving vehicles. The systems of particular interest include distributed systems and the Internet, servers and cloud datacenters, scalable parallel computers, and wireless embedded devices and mobile edge systems. He published two research monographs and more than 300 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conference proceedings; his papers received over 10K citations with an H-index of 58. He was a Best Paper Nominee or Awardee of the 2021 ACM Symposium on Cloud Computing (Socc’2021), 2013 IEEE High Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA), the 2013 ACM High Performance Distributed Computing (HPDC), IEEE Cluster’2016, ICPP’2005, GPC’2018, UIC’2018, AIMS’2019, IEEE Edge’2020. He also received more than 100 patents or PCT patents and spun off a business “Shenzhen Baidou Applied Technology” with dedication to location-based services and technologies. Dr. Xu received the most prestigious “President’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching” of Wayne State University in 2002.
He serves or served on a number of journal editorial boards, including IEEE Transactions on Computers (TC), IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC), IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing (JPDC), Science China: Information Science and ZTE Communication. Biography: Witold Pedrycz (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and D.Sci. degrees from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. He is currently a Professor and a Canada Research Chair (CRC) in computational intelligence with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. He is also with the Polish Academy of Sciences, Systems Research Institute, Warsaw, Poland. He has published numerous articles in these areas. He is also the author of 15 research monographs. His research interests include computational intelligence, fuzzy modeling, knowledge discovery, data mining, and fuzzy control, including fuzzy controllers, pattern recognition, knowledge-based neural networks, granular and relational computing, and software engineering. He has been a member of numerous program committees of IEEE conferences in the area of fuzzy sets and neurocomputing. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Information Sciences (Elsevier), WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (Wiley), and the International Journal of Granular Computing (Springer). He served as the Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Systems Man and Cybernetics—Part A and the President of IFSA. His current research interests include computational intelligence, swarm intelligence, network science and their applications.
